Esther Basch, affectionately known as the "Honey Girl", was a Holocaust Survivor, speaker, and educator.
Despite being sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp at the age of 16, Esther has been a symbol of strength and healing. She was known for her unwavering message of compassion and remembrance. One of Esther’s often quoted reflections was, “I can forgive (because it's healthier for me), but I can't forget.”
Esther dedicated much of her life to educating others about the Holocaust and promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding.
Esther passed away on April 14, 2025, exactly 80 years after her liberation from Salzwedel concentration camp on April 14, 1945 by American soldiers.
